A group programme in Christian discipleship for Africa. Based on scripture memory and highly interactive and practical, RinJ invites people to enter together into a living, growing and dynamic relationship with Jesus. It may be used with people of any educational level, or none; it is particularly suited for use in rural areas. The course is contained in a series of leader’s books; group members do not need a book and do not need to be literate. Rooted in Jesus has been translated into many languages and is currently (2014) in use in 60 dioceses or denominations in 15 African countries.
Rooted in Jesus Junior is a companion programme designed for use with young people of 8-14 years in Sunday Schools, youth groups and Confirmation classes. Both programmes are introduced through diocesan training conferences and supported by local coordinators. The Rooted in Jesus website is www.rootedinjesus.net. RinJ is directed by Alison Morgan, and has offices in the UK, South Africa and Tanzania.
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit.
